Self Introduction

Hello! I'm Zakia Sultana Sanam, a passionate and dynamic Media Studies & Journalism student from Dhaka, Bangladesh. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSS) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), with a double major in Communication for Development and Digital Journalism and a minor in Sustainable Development. Throughout my academic journey, I've maintained a CGPA of 3.72 out of 4, demonstrating my commitment to excellence.

My journey in media and journalism is driven by a deep-seated passion for impactful storytelling and sustainable development initiatives. I believe in the power of media to inform, educate, and inspire change, and I am eager to contribute to these fields through my skills and knowledge.

At ULAB, I've held several notable positions at ULAB TV, including Station Manager, Head of Human Resources, Head of Program, Prime News In-charge, and Program In-charge. These roles have equipped me with leadership, management, and hands-on journalism skills, allowing me to produce high-quality news packages, documentaries, and digital stories. My academic background is further enriched by my General Educational Development (GED) from the American Council on Education and my International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in Science from the British Council.

Extra-Curricular Activities

I am actively involved in various clubs and volunteer activities, which have broadened my perspective and honed my skills. I have participated in workshops on non-violent communication, coordinated activities for the Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival, and received training as a peer educator in life skills from UNICEF.

Creative Works and Hobbies

My creative pursuits include dancing, singing, painting, swimming, playing badminton, cooking, and photography. I have also undertaken training and performed in Bharat Nattyam, Nazrul Geeti, and Katthak Nrittya, and I have been involved in basketball through the Bangladesh Basketball Federation.

Personal Background

I was born on February 28, 1997, and currently reside in Malibagh, Chowdhurypara, with my spouse, MD Khairul Bashar Chowdhury (Layesh). My roots trace back to Sonargaon, Narayanganj, where my parents, MD Shamsuzzaman and Hena Begum, reside. I am fluent in Bengali and English, with conversational proficiency in Hindi.

Courses and Research Projects

My academic coursework covers a wide range of subjects, from communication theories and media law to environmental science and organic farming. I have conducted numerous research projects, participated in teaching roles, and undertaken training sessions in various communication and development fields. These experiences have solidified my understanding and capability to contribute effectively to the media and communication sectors.

My First Day In Campus

The journey of one of the most critical chapters of my life began on the first day of university. In my heart, there was a certain kind of excitement and joy. I got up early and drove to the permanent campus. I noticed a large gate as soon as I got out of the car. I walked down the narrow path towards the main buildings with a glimmer of hope in my eyes. This is the campus of my university. The interior is spacious and tidy. After a short distance, my gaze was drawn to the vast playground, which had a panel in one corner. This arrangement is for us, it was not left to understand. We must embrace this new spring morning ceremony because we are the freshmen. The seniors showed us a table and instructed us to collect food tokens as we approached the panel. I took a seat beside the token-carrying table. Students began to congregate one by one.
